How to Play Cornhole Pong
Intro
Cornhole Pong is a fun mash-up of classic cornhole and beer pong. It’s a social game that all ages and skill levels can enjoy.
The Setup
- Set up the boards on a flat, open surface, 18'–27' apart (front edge to front edge).
- Remove all of the discs from the boards to reveal six open holes on each side.
- Games can be played with 2 or 4 players.
- Each team needs two bags:
- Bags may be 6" regulation size or 4" junior size (recommended).
- Both teams should use the same size bags, with each team using a different color.
- Once everything is set, you’re ready to play ACA Cornhole Pong.
The Playfield
- The recommended distance between boards is 18'–27', depending on player skill level.
The Rules
Objective
Be the first team to toss bags into each of the six holes on the opponent’s board.
Teams & Positions
- Each team is made up of 1 or 2 players standing next to the same board.
- Their opponent(s) stand at the opposite board.
Who Goes First
- Flip a coin to decide who starts, or
- Have each team toss one bag at the opposing board; the team that sinks the first hole starts the game.
Tossing Bags
- For 2-player teams:
- Each player throws one bag per round.
- Player 1 must complete their toss before Player 2 throws.
- For 1-player teams:
- Each player throws two bags per round.
- Only one team throws at a time.
Closing Holes
- A hole is considered closed when a tossed bag goes entirely through the hole.
- As soon as this happens, cover that hole immediately with its disc.
Optional Rule: Bonus Bags
- If both players on a team successfully sink different holes in the same round, they are rewarded with both bags back and continue throwing.
Winning the Game
- The game ends when one team has successfully closed all six holes on their board.
Optional Rule: Double-Through Win
- A team automatically wins if:
- Their opponent does not immediately cover a hole that has been sunk, and
- The tossing team throws two bags through that same uncovered hole in the same round.
Uncovered Discs
- If a covered hole becomes uncovered due to impact during a round, simply re-cover the hole as it was before that toss.
Redemption & Overtime
Redemption
- The losing team gets one chance for redemption.
- They must alternate shots and successfully close all remaining open holes on their board without missing.
- If they miss, redemption ends and the game is over.
Overtime
- Uncover the front three holes and leave the back three holes covered.
- The first team to close all three front holes wins the game.
- There is no redemption in overtime.
