Tabletop Tennis – Official Game Rules
Tabletop Tennis is a portable version of table tennis that can be played on most flat surfaces, including dining tables, kitchen islands, patio tables, and coffee tables. No dedicated ping pong table is required.
Setup
Place the folding net across the center of the table and position the net stands. Each player receives a paddle.
Serve
Choose a player to serve first.
To begin play, the server hits the ball over the net. The ball should bounce once on each side of the table.
Rally
Players take turns returning the ball over the net.
Continue the rally until a point is scored.
Scoring
A player earns a point when:
- An opponent misses the ball
- The ball hits the net and does not cross
- The ball lands off the table
- The ball bounces more than once before being returned
Winning
- Play to 11 points
- Win by 2 points
- Alternate serves every 2 points
Doubles Play
For larger gatherings, play with teams of two. Alternate hits between teammates before returning the ball across the net.

Doubles Rotation
The winning team stays on the table while new challengers rotate in after each game. Great for larger groups and family gatherings.
