How to Set Up an Axe Throwing Target at Home
01 | Place the target on a stable surface with clear space around it.
02 | Player should throw 10-15 feet away. You can adjust distance to be closer for beginners.
03 | Only one throw should be near the target at a time.
Axe Throwing Rules and Scoring Guide
Gameplay
- Each player throws five (5) axes per round.
- Games are typically played to twenty-one (21) points but teams can create their own point limit as house rule.
- Solo Play: The player with the highest score after reaching the agreed point total wins.
- Team Play: Teammates take turns throwing and add their scores together. The team to reach the agreed point limit first wins.
Tiebreaker
If tied at the end of a game, each player gets one final throw. Closest to the bullseye (or highest corner hit) wins.
Safety Rules
- Throw only when area in front of the target is clear.
- Retrieve axes only after all players in the round have thrown.
- Never throw at anything other than the target.
Quick Play Option
Short on time? Play three (3) rounds with five (5) throws per player each round fifteen (15) total. Combine scores — highest score wins!
