The Rules of Cornhole
Objective: Be the first team to score at least 21 points
1. Take your spots
Line up at the board next to your opponent. If you're playing with four players, line up directly across from your teammate. Make sure all bags are at one of the boards.
2. Pitching the bags
In each inning, players alternate tossing bags until each player has tossed all four of his/her bags.
3. Taking Score
Players at the footboard take score. The approved scoring method for cornhole is cancellation scoring. See "Scoring" section for more information on how to score points.
4. Continue playing rotation
Players at the footboard continue pitching bags back toward the headboard. The team that scored in the previous round has honors and will toss first in the next inning of play. Play continues with a consistent playing rotation.
5. Winning the game
The first team to score 21 points wins the game!
Busting over 21 points is not an official rule. But, it's still a fun way to play. Play with your own house rules to make your own fun!
Scoring
Cancellation scoring is the approved scoring method for cornhole. This means the points of one team cancel out the points of the opposing team. Only one team scores in each round.
A bag on the ground is worth 0 points.
A bag on the board is worth 1 point.
A bag in the hole is worth 3 points.
